Booking and money
How it works
How do I book?
Send an enquiry from any trip page. We’ll confirm availability, answer questions and send booking details. [TO CONFIRM: deposit amount, balance due date and payment methods.]
Are flights included?
No, on any trip. Each trip page tells you the best airport, and your joining instructions give exact meeting times so you can book with confidence.
Why are prices shown in euro and pounds?
We’re an Irish company and price in euro. Sterling prices are shown for UK travellers; use the switch in the header. [TO CONFIRM: which currency is charged.]
Is my money protected?
[TO CONFIRM: licensing, bonding and insolvency protection details must be stated here before bookings open. No claim is made on this test site.]
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, on every trip, covering the activity and altitude involved. We’ll ask for your policy details before departure.
Can I come on my own?
Most people do. Rooms are shared, so there’s no single supplement on hut and dorm trips.
On the trip
What to expect
How fit do I need to be?
Each trip has a difficulty grade from 1 to 5 with a plain description. If you can do the described day at home, back to back, you’re ready.
What does “basic” accommodation mean?
Bunks, shared bathrooms, sometimes no shower, occasionally no electricity. Always clean, warm and in a better location than any hotel.
What about food and dietary needs?
Vegetarian is easy everywhere. Vegan and coeliac are possible on most trips with notice; some remote huts have limited options and we’ll tell you honestly.
What if the weather is bad?
Your guide adapts the route. Every itinerary has alternatives. Summits and northern lights are never guaranteed.
Who are the guides?
Qualified local leaders. [TO CONFIRM: qualification standards per trip.]
How are the sled dogs treated?
We only work with kennels whose welfare standards we’ve seen for ourselves. Ask us anything. [TO CONFIRM: named partner kennel.]
Not sure which trip fits?
Tell us your budget, your fitness and your dates. A real person will reply with an honest suggestion — including "not this one".
